NOTHING IS TOO DIFFICULT TO ACCOMPLISH FOR NIGERIANS IF WE'RE SERIOUS -WIKE

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says his administration has proven that through budgetary integrity, commitment and prudence nothing is too difficult to achieve in governance for Nigerians. Governor Wike spoke at the inauguration of the 72 beds Dr. Peter Odili Cancer Cardiovascular Diagnostic and Treatment Centre in Port Harcourt, performed by His Highness, Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero on Monday. The governor noted that seamlessly, his administration delivered the centre within agreed timeline of 14 months for the good of Rivers people and Nigerians at large. He noted that one of the reasons why federal government projects takes years to accomplish is because National Assembly often allocate paltry fund to projects earmarked for execution every fiscal year when it knows that such funds are grossly inadequate to achieving any meaningful milestone. Governor Wike stated that such practice has continued to encourage the abandonment of projects and promoted inadequacy in

Atiku’s Candidacy: big insult on the Nigerian Criminal Justice System.

Image
One of the indicators of a healthy nation is the effectiveness of the criminal justice system wrapped around it. Citizens must feel safe within it and respect for fundamental human rights must be guaranteed. Sanctity must reign supreme in the law courts and good leadership must be the order of the day. Nigeria is at the junction she's at today because her criminal justice system is in terrible shape now, though it will be fixed soon by Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Nigerian citizens no longer believe in it, and the hope for justice is not more than a pipe dream. Nigeria is in disarray today because her criminal justice system has failed. Our dear nation will soon descend into anarchy if we fail to find a lasting cure for cancer that has eaten deep into the fabric of our criminal justice system. We all have a civic duty to our motherland to join the campaign to fix our country, and part of the duty includes ensuring that the country gets to be governed by good men with excellent chara

US court releases Tinubu’s Drug Dealing, Money Laundering Case In Chicago

Image
The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has released fresh documents holding Bola Tinubu’s encounter with American authorities over allegations of narcotics trafficking and money laundering. Mr Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress and former Lagos governor, has come under intense public ridicule and political onslaught for his role in an early 1990s drug trafficking case in Chicago. Mr Tinubu has not commented on the narcotics affair, which has made headlines since at least the mid-aughts, preferring instead to discuss other parts of his background in corporate accounting, consultancy and pro-democracy activism. He, however, informed the electoral office INEC in his application to stand for the election that he had no prior criminal convictions. Mr Tinubu’s allies have also made efforts to downplay the matter entirely as a trivial distraction to Nigeria’s democratic experience because it happened decades ago in a dist

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Ovie Omo-Agege, and other leaders of the party in the state were disappointed Wednesday after waiting all day at the Osubi airport, Warri for the arrival of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, who failed to show up. Some of the other people stranded at the airport, waiting for Tinubu include Omo-Agege’s running mate, Friday Osanebi, members of his campaign council, party leaders and supporters. But Okupe said despite that, the LP is still looking to form an alliance with Kwankwaso and other parties. “As a party, at our own campaign level, we are talking to SDP; we are talking to even Kwankwaso and his team again. We are talking to PRP and ADC,” he said on Channels Television’s Hard Copy, a prerecorded show aired on Friday. “I believe and I trust that God will help us that between now and December, we would bring together that alignment politically in the country and the country would be better for it.” ‘Carrying Everybody Along’ A

Mbazulike Amaechi worked for peace, so sad it didn't come in his time

Image
“Mr President, I want you to be remembered as a person who saw Nigeria burning, and you quenched the fire.” Those were the exact words of Chief Mbazulike Amaechi during the visit of select elderstatesmen of Igbo extraction to President Muhammadu Buhari in November, 2021. The visit was to dialogue with the president and impress it on him to consider a political solution to the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the insecurity in the southeast.  For some reason that counsel was not heeded. Nigeria's ruling class instead continued to concoct what they said will be a medicine for madness with alligator pepper. It must have broken Amaechi's heart to continue getting the depressing news that come out of Nigeria daily, including the commercialisation of violence in the southeast. It must have broken his heart that his efforts at peace were sabotaged. He was to grant a press interview on the matter in July 2022. “On the 18th of November 2021, at the age of 93, I traveled to Abuja with some o
