SDF international initiative inaugurate its 1st mental health club Sponsored by BOKANO NIG Ltd and 3R Nig Ltd

 



A non governmental organization, Secure D Future International Initiative (SDF) has launched it's pioneer program, Mental Health Club in Abuja.

According to the organisation, providing students with easy access to information in Mental Health issues has been one of the major preoccupations of Secure D Future International Initiative (SDF). To this end the SDF team on Friday 17th Feb., 2023 launched the foremost Mental Health Club in Government Secondary School Wuye in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Present at the launch are the SDF Founder Dr. Saadatu  Adamu, SDF Nigeria Country Director Mrs. Chide Omali, SDF Director HR/Admin Dr. Mohammed Audu and other staff of SDF.



 Also at the occasion was Engr. Bobby Enofiok, the CEO of Bokano Nigeria Limited, a partner of SDF with a Corporate Social Responsibility that aims at awareness creation on Mental Health among the Nigerian Youths. The representative of the School’s principal and the Guardian Counsellor Mrs. Ojo were strategically present to grace the occasion. 


In her Keynote address, SDF Nigeria Country Director emphasized on the vision that birthed the club which is hinged providing access to information on Mental Health issues. She asserted that SDF Mental Health Club aim to reduce stigma associated with Mental Health thereby encourage individuals to speak up and get the needed help. She further stated that the club is become a platform for self-development and empowerment.

Engr. Enofiok in his goodwill message congratulated the members of the club who were inducted and charged them to take responsibility of their mental health as well as their wellbeing and also make the utmost use of the opportunities the club would be presenting to them. He encouraged the students to continue being responsible students, stay away from alcohol and substance use and also be mindful of peer engagements.



The school principal appreciated SDF team for the laudable initiative and for considering the school as one of the school to benefit from the initiative. She thereafter promised that the entire staff and students of the school will be committed to the growth of the club and ensure the school is safe for the development of the students.

The Head girl of the school in her vote of thanks applauded SDF team and pledged to ensure the club members are committed to the Mental Health Club Vision & Mission.

ABIA COMMUNITY DEMANDS REMOVAL OF SURVEYOR GENERAL OVER BOUNDARY DELINEATION EXERCISE

Ebe Abam community in Ohafia LGA, Abia state, has expressed their displeasure and dissatisfaction on the ongoing boundary Delineation Exercise spearheaded by Abia state government through the state surveyor general,  Christopher Nwanevu. In a petition signed by over 30 members of the community, they're demanding the immediate sack of Mr. Nwanevu.  'We, the concerned people of Ndi Ebe Abam feel it is our collective responsibility to expose the unholy attitude of surveyor Nwanevu and equally demand for his immediate removal to face sanction following his interest and partisanship on this subject matter.  It is quite obvious that surveyor Nwanevu has lost the credibility and integrity to continue the exercise because of his selfish interest and compromise in discharging his duty, the community wrote.
