CHRISTMAS: PROMOTE PEACEFUL CO+EXISTENCE AND SPREAD LOVE, MBA URGES NIGERIANS

As Nigerians join the rest of the world to celebrate Christmas, the Lead Director of Chibuisi Empowerment and Education Development (CEED) Foundation, Hon. Chibuisi Mba has enjoined Christians to promote peaceful co-existence, pray for Nigeria and also to ensure they support the less privileged in their communities.

Mba, in a Christmas message urged Christians to continue to pray for Nigeria, stressing that the well-being of the country will culminate to the realisation of the dream of every individual, according to convener of the Africa Leadership and Philanthropy (AFRILEAP) awards, the coincidence of the Christmas season with the electioneering season in Nigeria necessitated the call. He said Nigeria has come a long way in its journey of nationhood and must not allow political wrangling bring discord or threaten the bond of unity it has enjoyed, adding that Christmas provides a great opportunity to relate, celebrate and share the love of Christ.

The Deputy National Treasurer of New Nigeria People's Party, NNPP, further urged Nigerians to emulate and display the selflessness and love of Jesus Christ, that Christmas represents by using the yuletide season to pray for the good of their neighbours as well as the stability and progress of their Nigeria.

In his words: “Christmas portrays God’s selfless love for mankind, displayed through the birth of Jesus Christ as a gift to humanity. If we all selflessly love and care for the next person, irrespective of their religious, political and other persuasions, it will translate into a sacrificial love for our country and a genuine collective effort at national development.”

He therefore stressed the need to renew the bond of love, unity and kindred spirit among Nigerians by emulating the virtues of Jesus Christ, who gave his all to humanity.

He also used the opportunity to thank everyone that supported the foundation in the outgoing year and encourages Nigerians to do more in ensuring every child in their neighborhood goes to school, support the vulnerable and the less privileged.
